AKEBONO INTRODUCES EXPANDED 2004 ProACT™ CATALOG

Farmington Hills, MI, Aug. 10, 2004

Akebono Corporation, North America’s leading supplier of advanced brake technology, today announced the availability of its expanded 2004 ProACT™ Application Catalog, featuring ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pads and Precision Remanufactured Loaded Calipers.

More than 100 ProACT pad part numbers have been released since July 2003, adding coverage to hundreds of vehicles including several early release 2005 models. The new catalog features 253 ProACT brake pad and 434 ProACT caliper part numbers, covering domestic, Japanese and European vehicles. Notable additions include the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, 2004 Ford F-150, 2004 Lexus RX330, 2004 Mazda 6, 2004 Nissan Altima and Maxima, 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2005 Chrysler 300C and 2005 Dodge Magnum.

A growing number of owners, technicians and countermen say ProACT products restore OE-braking performance and provide an ideal upgrade to conventional brake pads.

“When we install Akebono pads, we know the best product has been put on that car or truck,” said John Francis of Francis Automotive Services, Westchester, Pa. “There’s no noise, no dusting, no comebacks, no problems.”

“Installing Akebono pads and eliminating comebacks has improved our business by eliminating a lot of headaches,” added Morris “Moe” Bean of Action Gator Tire, Ovideo, Fla. “My guys aren’t tied up doing the same job twice for a customer, so we’re able to make more money.”
