BRUCE MARDAR JOINS AKEBONO NORTH AMERICA AS EASTERN REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 26, 2004

Akebono Corporation, North America’s leading supplier of advanced brake technology, today announced that Bruce Mardar has joined the company as Eastern Regional Sales Manager for aftermarket sales. Mr. Mardar’s appointment is effective immediately. He is located in Midlothian, Va. and replaces Carl Schaefer, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.

Before joining Akebono, Mr. Mardar spent 14 years with Qualitee International, a supplier of aftermarket brake and clutch components. At Qualitee, he most recently served as National Sales Manager.

“Bruce brings significant experience in the aftermarket brake business and the automotive parts industry to our field sales team,” said Randy Mordue, Director of Aftermarket Operations, Akebono Corporation, North America. “He will be responsible for a key sales region as we continue to grow our aftermarket presence with a growing number of advanced brake products.”
