Akebono Corporation, North America's leading supplier of advanced brake technology, today announced Robin Gedye, Senior Product Manager - Aftermarket Caliper Products, has been named Chairman of the Automotive Parts Rebuiders Association (APRA) Brake Division, effective immediately.
"We are very proud and pleased with Robin's appointment to this leadership position in the automotive aftermarket," said Randy Mordue, director of Akebono aftermarket operations. "He has been a great asset to our organization and his wealth of experience in both foundation brakes and friction materials also will be of great benefit to the APRA and its members."
Gedye joined Akebono in 2003, after spending two years with Performance Friction Corp. as product development manager. Prior to this position, he spent 12 years with Midas International as a brake plant manager in charge of remanufactured calipers and riveted friction production. He also served as Quality Assurance Manager on all Midas brake-related production lines. Earlier in his career, Gedye held various positions at PAPRL Automotive and warehouse distributor James Paul-Vera Import. He opened one of the first import specialty parts warehouses in Dania/Hollywood, Florida.
